Sweet story, great atmosphere
Day of Redemption is one of those feel-good movies that you can watch over and over again. In the core of the plot lies a love story about two college lovebirds that finally have an opportunity to reconnect after years of estrangement. Except that the circumstances that bring them back together have also placed them as opposite sides in an aggressive business takeover. Yes, you might have seen something similar before, but Day of Redemption is, truly, all about feeling. What makes it stand out from other romantic stories, however, is everything that lies outside of the characters. DoR's visuals are so rich that sometimes it feels like everything just came out of a Pinterest page. The movie lets the ambiances do the talking for the characters in a way that gives their emotions material and poetic form. To take character's feelings and translate them into everything that surrounds them. That's what makes DoR unique.
It's Just for Fun
If you are seeking for fun. You could choose this movie. You got yourself a lingerie show, a handsome leading actor and few really pretty actress. There are everything you could ask for if you want to kill 2 hour with a delightful film. Only in Chinese. LOL. This is a intense story line that happens within a short period of time. But I don't know if it's because well-arranged or it's just too fun to watch, I don't think it's that intense. I just love the way the writer arranges those roles. A funny guy who always make things harder for the hero and the heroin. He's such a buzz killer. I have to sit through the whole film watching him showing up from time to time. But I think in everyday life, there got to be one of this kinda person there for you. And it's really funny to see him struggling in the whole film, trying to sabotage the everything good in the film.
