Ever know somebody too nice? Lovable, but you just want to smack them? That's Bob, 34, witty and self-deprecating. Bob meets the right girl. Smart and beautiful. Her beauty turns out to be a problem, because now Bob has to compete. Eric has known Bob for 15 years. They roomed together when they first hit New York. Eric is forced to move back in with Bob. During the move, Bob brings along his new girl, Mona. She's 22 and comes from an affluent background, but wants to make it on her own. She longs for the bohemian life-style she read about in books, but her temp job is dousing her dreams. That's when Mona meets Eric. He makes a nutty pass at her, half hoping she slaps him. She doesn't. Mona loves Bob, but with Eric there are sparks. Now Eric and Bob are living together and Mona is the minefield between them. Are the guys kidding themselves about her, or is this a love worth losing a best-friend?

Mona (2008) Reviews
Interesting story
Two guys - one fat & ugly but with a golden heart, the other is suppose to be handsome (but looks like a vampire to me) and constantly horny; are in love with Mona. They think she is beyond beautiful but she is actually average at best. Mona is only 22, the guys are older, and Mona imagines herself as an educated sophisticate and sexually liberated. She wants both guys and her to be lovers. The horny vampire guy is ready to jump in but the fat guy is wisely cautious and rejects the idea. Oh, by-the-way, the two guys are old friends and this issue pushes their friendship to the edge. Mona leaves, Mona comes back. There's a lot of sneaking around between the guys as to just who will jump in bed with Mona without the other knowing it. The movie ends wide open so you can conclude the story yourself. Most of the acting is OK and plot easy to follow (even if it does get a bit circular at times). The moving part is best and comes at opening of story.
