Saw it on an Avianca flight
Probably would never have watched otherwise, turned out to be a great movie. The ruthless Brazilian agent was well played.
Allow them to grow up
As a warning I am writing this review in English for English speakers. But the movie is in Spanish. If you know at least a few words in Spanish you should find the movie enjoyable. I did. But this movie seriously needs to be reviewed in the Spanish language. It is targeted at that audience. The title "Mi Mundial" is roughly equivalent to "My World" in English. I watched the movie on the HBO Latino channel without English subtitles. If you get the movie on DVD you may want to check if it provides English subtitles if this poses a problem for you. Does that mean you cannot watch the movie unless you know the language? Not necessarily. That is how you learn other languages. It is difficult to describe it without spoiling it for you. I will try. It sort of reminds me of this person I knew that was a brilliant high school football (American brand) player. He won an athletic grant to play for Arizona State with coach Frank Kush. He ended up playing on special teams with kick-off and punt returns as well as being one of the field goal kickers. Within less than two years he quit the team and left Arizona State. He went to the University of Utah as a normal student. Somebody we both knew tried to get him to play football at Utah and his only response was that it was fun to play at the high school level but once you went to the college level it became serious business and was no longer enjoyable. I am sure Frank Kush was part of the problem but it goes farther than that. The point is, don't rush children into a career in an area even if they are gifted in that area. Let them enjoy their childhood and have normal childhood friends. That is what this movie is really about.
