I Was a Teenage Movie Maker: Don Glut's Amateur Movies (2006) Reviews
Does what it says on the tin
I WAS A TEENAGE MOVIE MAKER is a surprisingly enjoyable little documentary piece that explores the films of amateur director Donald F. Glut, who presents to camera throughout. Glut is something of a well-known presence when it comes to classic American horror and monster flicks and a surprisingly prolific film-maker to boot. Much of the running time of this documentary is taken up with clips of the various films Glut made as a kid and beyond. They're surprisingly professional pieces from the look of them and the clips are chosen to entertain. Glut goes into detail about the film-making process and includes insight from other folk associated with the movies, all of whom give their two cents. This is as enjoyable a reflection on amateur film-making as something like American MOVIE.
