  Being a avid movie watcher myself, I have always been left disappointed by the Assamese comedies, which at best are not even laugh out louds.The title criminal hunter may sound naive but it is far from it. It is as good a thriller and action movie I have seen this year, of course with Rajkumar's trademark humor sprinkled liberally all over. The action is remarkably fresh and gripping. It is widely considered to be adopted from MMA.But of course no Assamese movie would be complete without some heartfelt romance. Any more information would be spoilers. I reckon if you are in a mood for a extra spicy masala movie, criminal hunter is a must watch

• An Edwoodian classic

  It is one of those films that must be seen to be believed. After the seminal "Terrorist Enter My House", polymath auteur Mr Rajkumar not only meets but obliterates the expectations with his second outing. With Criminal Hunter, he continues his experimentation with accelerated motion, which can be the perfect antidote after a tedious evening with Bela Tarr or Angelopoulos. I do not want to get into the details of the plot and spoil it for you but I must say that such blend of crowd pleasing gimcrackery and parallel cinema conscience is rarely seen nowadays. With this film Mr. Rajkumar firmly establishes himself as the prince of self funded Assamese independent films. In fact after the demise of Rajkumar (Bollywood) and Dr. Rajkumar (Sandalwood), he is now the only matinée idol to have been blessed with a royal nomenclature, a certain Rajkumar Hirani notwithstanding.

  this movie firmly established Rajkumar DA as an Assamese matinée idol. his single handed management of many technical departments of the movie (acting, stunts, script, music, singing, direction, production to name a few) also puts him in competition with Leonardo Da Vinci and Benjamin Franklin for the post of most talented human being ever.special mention must be made of the cinematographer whose name i forgot but his phone number is printed on every photograph of Rajkumar DA. Assam being the land of tea gardens, it is time for us to move away from "Waah Taj!" and say "Waah Raj!". i believe the page has one factual misinformation. Mr Rajkumar's character is not called Selim Da here. Selim was the name used in Torrorist Enter My House. In Criminal Hunter the protagonist, when asked his name by his lady love, replies- Mur Nam KARNA. Aru criminal'k dhonxo korai mur dharma. Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, xokoluwe mur apun.   After the spectacular success of the cult Assamese movie "Terrorist Enter my House" debonair Rajkumar returns with the second of his "killer" trilogy -Criminal Hunter. In fact the tag line of this movie epitomizes the cultness of this epic "Writer become fighter and criminal hunter." Whether its the death defying action sequences ,the physics defying gun sequences or the common sense defying songs and dialogs ,Criminal Hunter scores on every front.When asked his name the hero not only divulges his name but also the purpose of his life. The angle of love is woven beautifully in the narrative of a socio political thriller.The songs sung by Mr Rajkumar himself epitomize the yearning of a lover comparing his love with the light of the moon. A Tarantino treatment is seen in the blood and gory scenes.Guwahati almost looks like Seirra Leone and herein lies the greatness of Rajkumar.Its all about the money and Rajkumar thrives to remove evil from its roots. But even then our movie does not lose realism.The hero travels not in a swanky Audi or Lamborghini but an 8 seater shared auto .He cannot drive a motorbike so he wheels it out of the frame .The message being "Everyone is a hero,even someone who doesn't know how to drive a bike." This is a classic not to be missed.
