When Billy escapes from the institution, eight troubled teens are in for more than just a weekend of Community Service.

Woeful would-be slasher
COMMUNITY SERVICE THE MOVIE is a woeful attempt at a slasher movie that seems a little inspired by the British film WILDERNESS. A would-be back story opens the film and depicts the life of a bullied kid before the action shifts to the modern day and a community service team who find themselves assailed by a vengeance-seeking maniac. There's very little of interest in this movie, and the inexperienced cast members make it a pretty tough effort to watch. When the highlight of the film is a skinny dipping set-piece in which the characters strip down to their underwear then you know you're in a bit of a predicament. Otherwise it's a general case of treading water until the closing credits finally roll.
