Great Comedy!
Wait. It's a horror? Lol! I'm sorry I had to. This obviously micro budget had a plan. They planned to make a movie. They just aren't sure how. Scenes aren't finished, nothing is explained. I have to say, it IS the only movie that shows people doing things that people really would do if a crazy guy came after them.Running into things, hiding in plain sight..things fear make you do. And the killer didn't have super human strength, when people fought back, he looked winded. I laughed out loud a few times. I don't think that was the intent but I appreciate it nonetheless. Biggest chuckle? 21:26.
New Genre...
This is what happens when you give a wannabe film maker a few thousand dollars and a black bag full of talent. I'm genuinely struggling to find a flaw. This came from a very dark mind, its not a hero beats mystical monster type film, more of " a 7ft unit with a scythe and a mask wreaking havoc", situation. Imagine being stuck in the woods with Jason Vorhees little brother on the loose, that's what this film is, no long intros developing characters or soppy back story to the eventual hero who makes it out alive, just all is right, then someone gets a scythe in the head, what do we do now!!. None of the characters go into basements armed with letter openers, no-one has a squirrel that can summon Lucifer, no, it's just one scene of a madman on the loose. It's a bit lazy, no effort is made to explain what or who the Tattie-bogle is, but do we need to know? , the mooks running around getting slaughtered didn't seem to care and either do I. I loved this, like the title says, new genre, a lesson in terror.
Enjoyable!
I stumbled upon this quirky gem, I wish it was a full length movie. With that being said, it was perfect for the allotted time. A to-the-point cabin horror flick, with a very nice twist. Its low budget, but the score and acting are done well. Worth watching for those underground horror fans who need a quick fix. 7 stars for great plot and acting, just wanted it to be further developed!
a movie ?
At an hour long, this isn't quite a movie, and there isn't even a story. The strange part is, there was some character development although the acting is all over the place and it had a slight potential to be a cheaply done indie horror but it just doesn't succeed on any level. Imagine taking any horror/slasher script and the director filming just some of the scenes, people running around, and no explanation as to why anything is going on and then forgetting to film an ending. It also looks like it was shot on an old video camera and sounds even worse, many garbled scenes. There is low budget and no budget and then there is this. One surprise, the background music was well done. An hour wasted.
I liked it a lot.
This was very refreshing. Sort of a really old idea, but the way it was carried through made me happy. Looking forward seeing more from these writers.
